The way I teach myself is by playing the role of both professor and student
I lecture myself an explanation and if it doesn’t click (I don’t understand it well), then I search for a better explanation, for a better understanding
Through simply thinking over the subject and context
Or searching for a better understanding, as the professor, and then building a better explanation, for me as the student

Though the two are not separated, more integrated into me as one
A researcher and a learner
I search for explanations understandable by me
Through either books, online resources (articles, forums, blogs, etc.) or lecture notes
This is why I never need a teacher
I am my own teacher
But I teach what others have learned
So it’s not entirely ignorant

You got to sell yourself

Close minded people expect the world to be how they’ve always seen it
At some point in their life they close their minds and view the world as it has defined itself up to that point
Anything out of that view is absurd and unthinkable
Occurs sometime in early adulthood as the mind is used less newly and more repetitively
As the mind adopts constant routine thinking it adheres towards closure of learning, new thinking and thoughts
Why waste energy on new views when the old constitute enough for the same old life?
Strengthen what’s most important and discard the others
Routine thoughts and the subjective understanding of life becomes constant
And the mind closes

Open minded have no caged expectations of how the world may be
They acknowledge the vast possibilities
They know their limitations and ignorance
They know that existence defines what can be, not them
They know that anything can in fact be and they themselves only know what they’ve seen, not what they haven’t seen
Their minds avoid the common closure of the close minded through something quite simple
Curiosity
And an acknowledgment of ignorance and possibilities
Acknowledging the possibility of being wrong

The mind is always searching for more and aware that the world is more than what it seems
That nothing is always as simple or complex as it is drawn
That anything can in fact be possible, only the likelihood of occurrence may be near extinct
Maybe even those acts that go against science can occur, within the right environment
Or maybe they can’t
But how are we supposed to conclude from what little we know?
What if

You know you did the right thing when you don’t have to convince yourself
The right thing is perspective of you
It’s your underlying direction

I did the wrong thing
I can still do the right thing

You don’t live any other perception but your own
Close minded by definition
If your experiences can’t explain and comprehend it
You assume it to be a cause of the closest related experience you have
Ignorance and simple thinking
Assume the first thing that comes to mind
Thinking is too much work for you
Or you simply don’t care

I always give out the least info possible
I hide as much as I can
Then I get annoyed when someone assumes wrongly based on the little I give
What’s wrong with me
But I like doing so cause secrecy
And safety
Can’t hurt what you don’t know
